I have enjoyed Scrub Jays for as long as I can remember, from western scrub jays to our Florida scuba jay. This piece portrays them in a typical scrub environment foraging as a pair. We would frequently visit various scrub jay habitat, hoping to see the birds, if you saw one then you could bet on seeing a few more. Scrub jays are very social family birds, with the last crop of youngsters helping with the new ones, I painted two birds with this in mind.
