This painting was in my studio for years. I had the reference, I knew I wanted downy woodpecker. So I started the painting, Yet I just wasn't sure of the vines and the placement of the morning glories so I stopped and put the piece aside. Every now and then I would look at it, finally it clicked, I just knew what to do and I am really proud of the finished piece.
