I have this tree in the backyard and these doves. We had just finished a torrential Florida afternoon rainstorm and I was thinking how tough these birds had to be to survive as well as how remarkable feathers are. After riding out the rainstorm their top feathers were wet and needed preening, but the feathers below this "overcoat" we're warm and dry.
